The interview gives you a chance to tell us a little about yourself and for you to find whether The Company offers you the career opportunities and training that you are looking for. These interview tips and common question may help you. Preparation for the interview is of the essence: Þ Find out as much information as you can about the company and the business units you might be interested in. Þ Prepare questions that you would like to ask the interviewer about career opportunities in the company. Þ Role play an interview session with a friend. Þ Understand your own strengths and weaknesses and what you might be able to bring to the company. Þ Run through commonly asked questions. Prepare for subjective questions that only you can answer e.g. What are you career aspirations? Þ Prepare a suitable outfit for the day which presents you well. Þ Find out where the interview will be held, the time, place, the interviewer's name and their position in the organization. Ensure you are on time. At the interview: Þ Appear confident even if you are not feeling it. Þ Don’t worry if you need a moment to think through your answer. Most interviewers will understand if you need a little time to collect your thoughts. Þ Interviewers are looking to evaluate certain qualities, so try to give specific answers with examples if possible. Þ Be honest in your answer. The interviewer is trying to place you in a role that will develop your potential. Common questions include: Þ Over the next 3 - 5 years, what sort of role do you see yourself in? Þ What are your most significant achievements to date? Þ Where do you see your strengths on the technical and personal fronts? Þ How could you add value to the company if you got this job? Þ Why would you want to join the company? Þ Could you relate an incident when you had a difference of opinion with a colleague and tell me how you resolved it? |
